This cache is hidden in Sulham Woods.
It is not
particularly buggy friendly, although it is possible. There is
fairly heavy tree coverage, which could pose problems in the
summer, and parts of the paths can be muddy. You do not need to
wander far from the path to find the cache. And there is an extra
surprise!!! Nothing to do with teddy bears, but if you stand at
these co-ordinates (N51:28:341 W001:04:391), which is just below
where the cache is hidden, and look to the North West, just on the
horizon you will see a very distinctive landmark. You may need to
walk up and down the path a few steps to catch the view, it is a
very long way off. We won't spoil the surprise for you and tell you
what the landmark is. There's a reminder in the cache to take a
look and see if you can spot it. It might be worthwhile taking a
pair of binoculars if your eyesight is not too good. We have a
feeling the view may only be visible on a relatively clear day.
Please be careful when you log your visit on the website not to
spoil the surprise.
There is a car park for Sulham Woods at
N51°27.954' W001°04.082' If you would like
to cache and dash, there is a public footpath leading up fairly
close to the cache location. We haven't checked but would assume
you could park up on the road between Pangbourne and Sulham (Sulham
Lane) and nip up the footpath.
You are looking for a small white plastic
box which contains an assortment of smallish goodies for trading.
It is fairly well hidden and you may need to search around for a
while - there are a few possible hidey holes. There is a log book
for you to sign. Please leave a calling card if you have
one.
