Long before the biker bar there was a real cabbage patch
The third iteration of this cache once landmark cache is very sad. It's now a lowly micro at the stop sign. I'm preserving it for sentimental reasons. Please read the rest to the description for some of the history of this cache. This was my best hide back in the early days. I left the original cache description below, but now the vegetable stand is a relic and so is my cache. I didn't change the difficulty because some of the early finders earned it and I don't want to affect their ratings. Frank Benedict will be the last of his family to farm this fertile piece of land in Samsula. The family started farming here in 1914 but his children have eschewed this lifestyle for more normal livelihoods. Eight years ago Frank decided to put up a little self service stand to sell his produce directly to the public. Those of us who drive by regularly have been enjoying it ever since. The hurricanes flattened the stand, but like all farmers, Frank just dealt with it and the stand stands again. Frank has been robbed of cash and produce numerous times which lead many changes.: a new cash box, a home made security system, a part time attendant, and a big wire door to lock the stand at night. Did I mention that one of his children is in the county prosecutor's office so if he gets you on tape with you hands in the till...big trouble. The produce line is quite broad and some of it is his own, but other local farmers also use the stand. Cabbage remains what Samsula is famous for. There's a good chance you will see Frank on his tractor or white pick up truck, bare foot, working on his farm. He will always be smiling. Because of the robberies please stay away at night. The cache is not located in the stand. I think you can all figure it out but please respect the property. If you are stuck you can always just ask Frank. I justy lowered the difficulty since I made the hint a give away. All the locals had their fun with it already. Now it needs some more finds. 8-32
