Geocache Description:

A Well cammoed container located off the hiking trail near an old Indian mound.

The mound was built by the Timucuan Indians they were the early inhabitors of Florida from 300 - 4000 years ago. The Timucuans were hunters, gathers, and agriculturalists. They built two types of mounds. A trash mound ( midden ) usually of shells and broken pottery. And a burial mound in which they placed their dead. Please respect this mound and do not dig on or in it. Florida law prohibits any kind of mound desecration. As you can see by all the pock marks on the mound others have not respected it.
