LIBERTY WEST BAPTIST CEMETARY EST,1834 LOUINA /WADLEY,AL,

LOUINA, 1 MILE NORTH ON THE EAST BANK OF the Tallaposa River was located Louina named for an Indian woman who operated a trading post.Settled 1834 it became the cheif buisness center in Randolph County with the county,s first newspaper ,schools for boys and girls Baptist and Methodist churches Masonic lodge,grist mill,wool factory and cotton gin.The Company of Confederate Soldiers organized here August 1 1861 The last store closed in 1902 and the post office moved eastward to Concord ,The town finally faded away and moved across the river and is now Wadley. LOOK FOR THE PINK PLASTIC SHOE BOX WITH KOOZEE,SLING SHOT,2 BUCKEYES FOR GOOD LUCK,SMOKEY MOUNTIAN KEY CHAIN,TURKEY CALL,A PICTURE OF A DEER THAT SMILES AT OUR GAME CAMERA EVERY TIME SHE COMES BY!
