Keep
it Secret: We charge the Fellowship of the Ring
with this mission; do not reveal the hides through spoiler
clues. |
Keep
it Safe: Completing this series means accepting real risk
of life and limb. Please read the disclaimer
below. |
Disclaimer:
There is no need for anyone to do any of these caches, or to
complete them once started. Those who choose to undertake this
series do so at their own risk. The terrain in the area of these
caches is extremely rocky and steep. Please be careful. But even
with care, falling from great heights and other serious,
potentially fatal risks remain. Please do not undertake this series
if you are not in good physical shape, comfortable with rock
climbing, and completely willing to accept the risks associated
with this activity. |

Ascending
Mount Doom
As throughout this series, the above coordinates
are not correct. To obtain the correct coordinates, you must first
demonstrate the Elven wisdom required to find the Three Rings; the
Dwarvish skill with silver and gold needed to locate the Seven; and
all the bravery of Men necessary to reach the Nine. There, at "Nine
for Mortal Men," you will be given the correct coordinates for the
One Ring to Rule Them All. |
|
There are no more
tricks here. The coordinates you will obtain are exact, to the best
of our ability. This cache is listed as a mystery/puzzle cache
because of all that has gone before it in this series, and rated at
4.5 for difficulty for the same reason. But...
BE WARNED:
The 4.5 rating
for terrain refers specifically to this location. Like the "Mortal
Men" cache, at this cache you will encounter the extreme
terrain of which you were warned in the above disclaimer. To
re-state what we said of the preceding cache in this series: This
is an area used by rock climbers, who come here with rope and
harness. For those who know how to properly use such equipment,
rock-climbing gear could well be used to help reach the cache
location. We placed the cache without using such equipment, but
this is not to say that this is safe. There is no safe approach to
this cache. Please do not attempt this cache if you are not
entirely comfortable with accepting these
risks.
This is another
regular-sized cache. Among the initial contents are a geocaching
Bookcrossing copy of
The Return of the King and several "rings of power."
Apparently, the power of the one has
multiplied.
Good
luck.
