Geocache Description:

Second in the Playlot Adventure Series. Each stage of the series visits three neighorhood playlots and ends with a short hike to the final cache.

The initial coordinates will take you to one of the local neighborhood playlots in Los Alamos. You will be looking for a micro which is a small metal dogtag (similiar to a travel bug tag). The tag will have the coordinates to the next playlot. At the third playlot the tag will have the coordinates of the final cache. To get to it, follow the trail that begins from across the street of the playlot. At the Y turn right to follow the Rim trail. This will be easier than trying to go direct. The final cache is an ammo can located not far off the trail.

Each playlot is within a short drive or fairly easy bike ride from one another. The trail is well traveled and easy to follow but may be muddy or icy depending on weather conditions. The hints should make each tag or cache easier to find.

Part of the difficulty in completing this cache is finding your way around Los Alamos, and discovering the location of some of the playlots and trailheads. The Los Alamos street map available for free from the Chamber of Commerce will be very helpfull. It is possible to do this cache in about an hour, however expect that you may spend half a day or more to compete. After one in the series is completed the others should be easier.

Kid tested and approved, by a real live 7 year old.

Original contents include lots of cool stuff for all ages, to trade up or equal may want to consider more than just the standard toys and trinkits.

I highly recommend the Los Alamos Street Map available for free from the Chamber of Commerce. This map not only shows streets but also all the local trails and parks.
