This cache is in a very small park located in the middle of downtown Weirton,WV. This area of town was origionaly named Hollidays Cove. When you see the size of the park, you will know why I had to do a micro!!! B.Y.O.P.---Bring your own pencil.

A community in Hancock County, Weirton, WV was incorporated from the town of Hollidays Cove, Weirton Heights and Marland Heights, as of July 1, 1947. The town's name honored the Weir family, then owners of the Weirton Steel Corporation, founded in 1909 by Ernest Weir at Holliday Cove. Holliday's Cove was the earliest permanent white settlement in Hancock County, named after John Holliday, who built a log cabin there in 1776. This cache is across the street from the Weirton city building and police department. Permission for placing this cache was granted by Terry Weigel, the city's executive director of parks and recreation. Weirton's preveous mayor, George Kondic, has also given his permission to place caches on city property.
