It's time for Niota to shine in the Geo-world. Niota invites cachers from all over to come visit our small corner of the caching community.
This will be MARCH 19, 2005. Let's get it rolling at 2:00. That gives us lots of time to play and eat before it gets dark for the bonfire.
We've been wanting to do a caching event over here in our neck of the woods. Campdoc1 has generously donated the use of his sweet little campground right outside Niota to have it at.
Been talking with folks on the forum pages and everybody wants to do a Chili-Cookoff, too. So, if everybody would please bring the meat, or Chili, of your choice and a covered dish or pot-luck item to pass? We'll have a few grills out there plus a fire to roast your weenies. Weenie sticks will be provided. MDC has a few large coolers to keep your drinks cold. After it gets dark, we'll also be roasting marshmellows on the bonfire. And, of course share caching adventures, storys and experiences. Campdoc1 has tons of firewood, so we're well taken care of there.
People will also need to bring lawn chairs. There are a few picnic tables. Campdoc1 is also lining up a Porta-Pottie this week. Thank you : ) !!! There are some camping sites, if you want to camp here for the weekend. As long as weather cooperates, we'll be camping there. I know a few other people are planning on it, too.
We'll also have some caches to find and a scavenger hunt to get ya going. We have a great start to the game-just you wait MDC!! There's also quite a few caches in the Athens/Sweetwater area to find before and after.
Please post what you're going to bring to pass. That way we don't end up with a 8000 napkins and no cups or nothing but beans and no slaw.
Hope everyone shows up-it'll be a great time!
We met with Campdoc1 this past weekend and walked thru' the campground and surrounding woods. It's a really great place. It has a nice, wide-open area to have our party. Plenty of room for everybody to enjoy themselves.
Since alot of folks are wanting to camp, I went ahead and made this a picnic/campout. Hope ya'll come!
