Geocache Description:

Cache is located near the junction of Thompson Creek and Pilot Rock trails.

To get credit for this cache you must park at N35°22.941' W82°44.697' . It is possible to park on the Blue Ridge Parkway and travel a much shorter distance but unless you have a note from your Dr. this is not allowed to get credit for the cache. Aside from climbing back out of the narrows on Green River this is the toughest trail I have walked in a good while. It is a 4.8 mile round trip. Excellent views though. You can look down into Asheville and make out the Biltmore House, Asheville Mall, and both hospitals. Took 1 hour and 10 minutes to walk up and about 45 minutes to come back down. Excellent day in the forest that I am sure you will enjoy! The trail up follows Thompson Creek and has some great scenery. Cache container is 4" tall with a 3" mouth. Was placed with homemade log and various other useless items from some of our finer national eating establisments that no sane person would walk 5 miles to retrieve.
