The Russians are Coming III Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Ngaambul: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

The third in a series of caches highlighting the early fortifications built for the protection of Hobart. Unfortunately nothing remains to view of the fortifications, however an informative interpretation display illustrates what came before.

Waypoint 1 will introduce you to the fortifications previously on this site. The location is a good place to escape the Salamanca crowds on a Saturday. There is a great slide for kids.

To find WP2 answer the following questions.

What was the size of the gun that the members of the HTVA posed before? AB-pdr RML guns in the Queens Battery 1870.

The Hobart Town Volunteer Artillery Company found the initial rush for the dashing uniforms, marching and the opportunity to fire the guns enabled their membership to reach 12C in 1860.

The Albert Battery was built in 185D
