Geocache Description:

Located at the northern part of the mountain Imittos over the area of Agia Paraskeui, at the altitude of 479 meters.

A good idea to start climbing the mountain is from the area of Papagou. You head for the cemetery of Papagou.
After this and at the turn with coordinates N37 58.798 E23 49.016 you turn left.At the point with coordinates
N37 59.516 E23 49.366 the asphault road ends and starts the gravel path. You take the right one, the one that heads
upwards. At this point there is a sign that prohibits people taking pictures ! ! ! If you want you can park your car
at this point as there is plenty of parking. If you like pushing your car to its limits, then keep on driving!
Personally I ride my mountain bike from this point on, as the path is ideal for mountain biking.
At the point with the coordinates N37 59.680 E23 49.800 is your last chance to park your car,
as you have to walk from this point on.You climb the hard rock path right towards the tall portal for electricity.
As you reach the portal, head to the pine trees north. You are very close to the cache ! ! !

The cache consists of the following items: a logbook a pen and a pencil in a seperate bag, a geocaching declaration in
Greek at one side and in English at the opposite, a small bag with a Happy face and the Travel Bug attached
to it allong with declaration about the Happy face, a tyre like keyholder, a plastic small shark, a plastic small cow,
an elastic ball, a glass ball, a lucky trefoil, a cupping plastic toy and a PC-CDROM "Interactive Auto library" from
magazine "4 wheels".

When you find the cache, just enjoy the view from the northern part of the mountain Imittos.
At the north-west area you have the city of Athens in your feet ! Enjoy the Acropolis, the Lycabetus,
the stadium with the calatrava roof that the opening of the 2004 games were held and so many other buildings.
At the east you have a magnificent view of the Messogeia area. You can also see the mountain of Penteli,
from where the ancient Greeks excavated the fabulous white marbles to build the Parthenon on the Acropolis hill!
If the sky is clear you can even see Evia with the high mountains.Breath some fresh air and enjoy the silence!!!
*************
April 2007 note: I lower the difficulty of this cache.
The gravel road that passes nearby the cache, is one of the special stages of Rally Acropolis 2007 (and it was one of the Rally Acropolis 2006). The road probably will be closed for normal cars the days of Rally Acropolis 2007 (at the first weekend of June 2007).
If you are a fun of the WRC rally, enjoy the dust of Seb, Markus, Mirkko, Petter and the other drivers of the world rally champions.
