Geocache Description:

These coordinates aren't any good! You need to go to http://www.homeofheroes.com/moh/states/tn.html to start this hunt. Find the only Shelby County Marine(USMC)from the Vietnam conflict and read his citation.

From the citation, you will need the number of the enemy that he is given credit for taking out of action, to figure the first coordinates of this hunt. Add this number to the final digit of both longitude and latitude given above to find the first stop. Since you will be in a cemetary, please be respectful in the hunt. Your new coordinates will give you the grave sites of our MOH recipient and his father. From the information on both headstones, figure out how old the father was when his son was born and how old he was when his son died in Vietnam. Now do the following math to get the new and final coordinates: Add fathers age at son's birth and 27; add this total to the original latitude(last3 digits). Add the age of father at the son's death and 166; add this total to the original longitude (last 3 digits). You now have the final coordinates. Pay your respects and enjoy the hunt.

This man is one of 34 men from Tennessee to receive this nations highest award and the only one from Shelby County.

Tipton County to the north has one recipient also-see GCD30A
