Easy to get to. Easy to find. Suitable for cachers of all ages and 'condition'... Although it is not suitable for wheelchairs.
We placed this cache in an area we ride our bicycles in during the summer. It's generally peaceful and quiet around, though you can usually hear the sounds of dirt bikes off in the distance across the river. Some people park in the lot and walk their dogs. Others use it as a 'put-in' point for canoes and kayaks. The day we placed the cache there were people off-loading their horses to go riding. If you come in on Carson River road, be sure to listen for the Peacocks from the nearby farm. If you come in off Deer Run Road, STILL listen for the Peacocks. They are LOUD! You have a short walk from the parking lot to the cache and it’s not difficult at all. Just watch for anyone who might be nearby and use the usual caution to prevent plundering. This is a very easy cache to claim. Look for a Costco Plastic container painted in camo colors. At the time of current placement we put the usual Geo-swag in the cache, plus a new log book. Stuff you might need if you hang around slow moving water in the warm season. We also included our own new TB, "Lonesome Louie", and a TB we picked up on vacation ("Smiley"). NOTE: Please return the logbook into the plastic bag after you log the cache. This helps keep it dry for the next cacher. We've replaced the log twice now, and think if everyone replaced the log in the bag it would survive the various weather conditions. Thanks to all. Good hunting.
