A Hardy Jewel Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

macleod1: After a long run we are archiving "A Hardy Jewel". The center changed their light posts so without the skirts to conceal the cache it was too easily spotted by muggles. Thanks to all who hunted and continue to hunt our caches. Happy Caching!

Geocache Description:

The twin cities of Jefferson and West Jefferson lie in the center of Ashe County.
They are classic small towns, with warm, friendly people.
This is another in a series of caches designed to introduce others to the warmth and charm of this area.

We chose this location because it provides a good view of Mount Jefferson which
rises abruptly to more than 1,600 feet above the surrounding landscape. It serves as a landmark
for area motorists. Though the mountain is magnificent from a distance, Mount Jefferson is best appreciated
up close. On a clear day, you can see for miles from its peak. A great part of Ashe County spreads out below;
fields, farms, forests and mountains mingle in kaleidoscopic patterns. On the horizon,
the Blue Ridge Mountains form a striking backdrop.

You are seeking a camouflaged plastic pouch. It only contains a log, so please bring your own pen.
