This cache is set in Gisburn Forest, which is next to Stocks Reservoir in the eastern Forest of Bowland. All but the south-eastern corner of Gisburn Forest and one or two small areas have been dedicated as freely available for “roaming” by the Forestry Commission (marked as bright green on the latest OL41 map).
The coordinates given above are for an alternative car park. The coordinates of the main car park are given below. The final cache is not actually in the forest, but is a short drive away on CRoW access land.
Proceed to the first stage. There is a notice on the building with a number in the format "abcd cecbf". Subtract 6667 from abcd and divide by 1000 to give x.xxx. Subtract 33218 from cecbf and divide by 1000 to give yy.yyy. The coordinates of the second stage are N54 x.xxx W02 yy.yyy. Stage 2 is a micro containing the cache coordinates.
NOTE: UNTIL I sort out Stage 2, the coordinates of the final cache are N54 d.bcb W02 dc.fcf

Return to the car and drive to the final cache.
Allow at least 2 hours to complete the cache.
It is possible to do this cache on a mountain bike. The final cache can be cycled to if you have the time/energy! The forestry tracks can be difficult to identify on the OL41 map - I found Streetmap to be useful for showing them: (visit link) (which must contain one of the rudest placenames in the UK!).
