Geocache Description:

Welcome to Pen y Gelli Nature reserve, owned by Whitford Comunity Council. Formally a Lime quarry. And located next to a source of cache swaps, and hitchhickers for TB'S. Please note the co-ordinates are for car parking only!!! To do this cache you will have to follow some simple instuctions. Once you have found the starting point!!!

Pen Y Gelli has had a varied life it started off as a Lime Stone quarry. And you can still see the remains of the Lime Kiln. It was then used as a storage depot by the local council. Finally it is now a nature reserve. Peni Y Gelli is owned by Whitford Community Council who after careful consideration have given me permission for this cache. The area is managed on their behalf by Flintshire County Councils Countryside Service. I've spoken to both the Ranger responcible for Pen Y Gelli, and the Ranger Manager over the local Ranger, and both had no objections to the cache. Now for the nitty gritty bits about finding the cache. From the parking point, you will enter the site through a kissing gate and immediately see a information board, if you walk to the other kissing gate keeping parallel with the road you will see another information sign, this time in front of what remains of the lime kiln. Hidden within 3 metres of the right post of one of the 2 info boards as you face them is a 35mm canister with some slips in it, please take one as it contains all the info to find the final container (clue: don't look down). From here you will go to a waypoint using your GPSr, and then following the instructions on the slip of paper in your hand. Pace out your way to the cache location, just like a regular Letter box. You will find a log book in the cache and a custom Stamp, please do not take the stamp, just use it to stamp your own log book, and if you have your own stamp please stamp the caches log book.
