Lyrics
In 1901, the City of Traverse City paid Linus Bryant the sum of
$250 for a parcel of land way out on the far edge of town. At that
time there were only small summer cottages and fishermen’s shacks
“way out here”.
East Bay Park is the most kid friendly beach in town. A small child
can wade safely without the danger of high waves or a dropoff. This
park has a playground, restrooms, picnic tables and grills. Since
it is off the beaten path on the far east side, it doesn't get
nearly the traffic as the beaches on the "other bay". Please use
stealth when retrieving the cache. Although we have chosen a
location away from the action, curious children play all along the
beach.
The cache is a traditional camouflaged plastic container that will
accept most trades.
This is one of a series of 10 caches that we have placed to
highlight Traverse City and some of its lesser used parks.
If you have not yet discovered all of the caches, they
are;
Please Mr. Postman,
At The Beach,
Down by the Riverside,
Loop de Loop,
On a Blanket with my Baby,
A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,
Where the Watermelons Grow,
Life is just a Bowl of Cherries,
Oh Genevieve,
Where's the Playground Susie?,
In, on or in close proximity to each cache container is a number
accompanied by a letter. Take note and record each combination.
After you have found the 10 caches there is a
Beautiful Reward cache at N44° AB.CDE, W085° FG.HIJ.
Given the nature of parks, all of the caches are child friendly
and we created them with children in mind. None of the locations
are physically challenging. All are in safe locations and, with the
exception of a couple that are out of the reach of toddlers, can be
found by the youngsters. We hope you have fun on your hunt, we
created this series with your enjoyment in mind.
