Geocache Description:

Another puzzle cache for all the geocachers who like a brain challenging geocache.

The above coordinates are bogus. They are for one of my favorite restaurants where we have our Saturday geocaching stategy meetings. Do not use them in trying to locate this cache.

After seeing how much fun everyone has had with my first puzzle cache, I have decided to make another one. You will solve brainteasers in order to get the coordinates for the cache. Each brainteaser is independent of the previous one and you will need to solve them in different ways. Please pay attention to each brainteasers directions. You may have to reverse digits, multiply answers, or add zeros to get the true numbers needed to fill in the coordinates. If you carelessly overlook something in the directions, then you might not be able to actually find the cache. The puzzles are not as hard as they first appear, and some may have several different ways to solve them

As with my first puzzle cache, I received permission to place this second cache on private property. This should add a challenge to the cache of not being able to solve a few puzzles and then drive around looking for a nearby public area. When you get to the caches true location, you will be able to park on the side of a public road directly in front of the cache. It will be within fifteen feet of the road. You will be looking for an ammo can. There will be very few, if any, potential mugglers at his location. If you are at an area that doesn’t fit the above description, then you have probably figured one or more of the puzzles incorrectly. ENJOY!!!!

TRAVEL BUGS MILEAGE MAY BE INCORRECT:

Just in case anyone gets the bright idea that I had to locate this cache within a few miles of my listed coordinates at the top of the page. The geocaching rules say that the bogus coordinates should be within a few miles to the actual cache for correct travel bug mileage when they are logged into caches. The bogus coordinates above may be more than a few miles away. You need to remember this if placing travel bugs into this cache.

The answers to the following brainteasers will fill these coordinates
N32 AB.CDE
W092 FG.HIJ

You may or may not have to use zeros to fill in some problems

.

Brainteaser # 1: Answer for ACH

A fellow geocacher decided that he would try to sell some hand-made walking sticks at the local geocaching picnic event. In the first hour, he sold one-half of his sticks, plus one-half of a stick. The next hour, he sold one-third of his remaining sticks plus one-third of a stick. In the third hour, he sold one-fourth of what he had left, plus three-fourths of a stick. The last hour, he sold one-fifth of the remaining sticks, plus one-fifth of a stick. He did not cut up any sticks to make these sales. He returned home with 19 sticks. How many did he originally take to the event? Multiply the answer by 3 and reverse the digits. This will give you the answer for ACH in the coordinates. Make sure to multiply and reverse the digits.

Brainteaser # 2: Answer for B

You are inside a perfectly squared room where each wall, the ceiling and even the floor are mirrors. There is nothing else in the room. Supposing that you can still breathe for this puzzle, how many reflections can you see if you're facing one direction. You are able to look straight ahead, up, down, left and right? Take the correct answer to this puzzle and it will give you the digits for B in the coordinates.

Brainteaser # 3: Answer for DE

This well-known and respected man passed away. The whole community turned out for his funeral. On his gravestone , it read that one sixth of his life was spent in childhood and one twelfth as a teenager. One seventh of his life passed between the time he became an adult and the time he married; five years later, his son was born. Alas, the son died four years before he did. He lived to be twice as old as his son did. How old did the man live to be? Take the answer to this puzzle and it will give you the digits for DE in the coordinates.

Brainteaser 4: Answer for FG

p, n, ?, s, j, m, e, v, m - Can you figure out logically the missing letter in the sequence? Once you do solve the puzzle, then use the following alphabet/number scale for your answer. If we start at the letter A=3, B=4, C=5, D=6, etc,.…….,X=26,Y=27, Z=28.
The answer will be FG in the coordinates. You may get a single number (Ex.A=3). If this is the case then make sure to add a zero (3+0) so you will get the two digits for FG.

Brainteaser # 5: Answer for IJ

Okay, close your eyes and imagine a number written out in all capital letters. If the number is written in English capital letters, consisting only of straight lines, only one number has a value equal to the number of straight line segments that are required to write it out. What number is this? Take the answer to this puzzle and reverse the digits. This will give you the answer for IJ. Make sure to reverse the digits.
