Life, The Universe, And Everything Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

bazzle: I have decided that the new practices of the "approvers" have made owning caches no longer fun. This cache is now archived. It is too bad the fun is being sucked out of the game. Oh how I long for the good ol' days when we were few and and a cache was not a film canister tossed in the bushes...

Geocache Description:

The posted coordinates are not the location of the cache. They are a good place to locate the $3.50 permit you will need to park, and the degree portion is correct for the cache. The cache is a nice 3.5 mile hike from the parking location. There is also a benchmark and a couple other cache along the way. The view from just past the cache is well worth the long hike.

I placed this cache in honor of my birthday. This is a rather significant birthday for me and while I was wandering and pondering the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything, I decided to place a cache to commemorate the fact that I not only knew the answer, but I also knew the question. Now this is no small feat as the answer itself was discovered by Deep Thought, the second greatest computer of all time, which was constructed by the 3-dimensional profiles of a pan-dimensional, hyper-intelligent race of beings. After seven and a half million years of pondering the question Deep Thought provided Loonquawl with the answer. Loonquawl was quite appalled at the answer stating:

”Is that all you’ve got to show for seven and a half million years’ of work?”

To which Deep Thought replied:

”I checked it very thoroughly, and that quite definitely is the answer. I think the problem, to be quite honest with you, is that you’ve never actually known what the question is.”

The answer itself is not hard to find, and it happens to be my age on this day. The question on the other hand is a simple mathematical equation and can probably be found if you visit Milliways. Now Prak, who after a significant overdose of a remarkably effective truth serum has gained the knowledge of all truth, states that both the ultimate answer and the ultimate question cannot be known about the same universe. If this were to happen, according to Prak, the universe would disapper and be replaced by something even more bizarrely inexplicable. Although Prak does speculate that this may have already happened. So once you find the answer and figure out how it fits the question, be sure to keep it to yourself!

The minute portion of the cache location is N 3B point 548 and W 38 point 2B9, well almost. These are the correct numbers, but you must first determine how to make the answer fit the question. Once you have done this you can transform these coordinates into the correct numbers to get you to the cache. Also in doing so you will discover the fundamental flaw in the universe and perhaps even enjoy a Pan-Galatic Gargleblaster…
