Geocache Description:

Update by TxVic, 3/10/14: I have kept some of the original wording of the original cache page and added to it as needed.

Bring your Flashlight!

(From the original cache page-)This is our second night cache we've placed. If you haven't found our first, try We are Nocturnal.

You will start at the red gates, then travel up the path until you find a reflector. Keep on the trail and continue looking for reflectors. If there is a fork in the road, look for a reflector to tell you which pathway to take. There could be a decoy or two! Some of the reflectors may be placed to accent an interesting feature nearby, so follow the beams of your lights to see all around. When you see 3 reflectors very close together and a bobcat on your right, take 8 paces forward on the trail toward the reflectors, and shine your lights to your right. You should see your way to the final off the trail. Be careful when you leave the trail, there are cactus and thorns. You'll know when you arrive there!

Have fun and watch the trails, sometimes they can get very muddy, but usually the park will close them after a rain.

This Night Cache is 9 years old! I enjoyed reviving it with the help of 8 and 7 year old, TxKira96 and CactusJack96. A very few of the original reflectors were still there and we left them. Have to check in the dark to see if they need to be replaced, but they shouldn’t cause any issues if no longer reflective. There are also a few to lead you back to the starting point.

There is a $7.00 fee to enter the park, or you can use your park pass, $70.00 for an annual pass. This park office stays open until 10 p.m. and after that, the gate to leave will open automatically.

This cache has a current application on file at the headquarters of Cedar Hill State Park. This has been approved by the Park Ranger and will be renewed when the current application expires.
