Geocache Description:

This cache is located at the site of the old skyride on Panama City Beach. The path to the cache is fairly overgrown, keep an eye out for thorns. No climbing is required to retreive the cache. It looks like the cache site might be used by muggles from time to time. Night caching not recommend.Park near 30 11 29.05 / 85 49 40.42 or you are entering from the wrong place.

The skyride in Panama City Beach was built in 1960. The ride took people in open cars up over 100' up for a great view of the beach. In 1960 there were no two-story buildings on the beach, so a ride 100 feet in the air gave visitors a view that was unobtainable anywhere else. ("Dixie Before Disney" by Tim Hollis)

The towers have been removed but the loading platform remains standing. A couple of the old bucket cars are still hanging from the cable at the platform.
