Geocache Description:

This cache is located on the Cliff Walk in Newport, R.I. Unlike the other Cliff Walk caches this cache is located in the "rugged" section of the walk. Easiest access points to this section of the Cliff Walk are from Ledge Rd. and/or Ruggles Ave. For a longer hike, cachers can access the Cliff Walk via the main entrance on Memorial Blvd. near 1st Beach.

This is the first of a series of caches that are going to be placed in locations around the country to honor my late friend Rob Harrison. Rob was a lover of athletics and the outdoors. The fun that others will have while locating these caches will pay tribute to the fun loving attitude that Rob possessed and shared with us all.

The cache is an oval plastic container that contains a logbook, pencil, and hockey puck. The hockey puck represents Rob's favorite sport and will hopefully provide an opportunity for others to enjoy it.

There are great views from this location. In winter, I have seen an occasional seal in the area. In summer, this is a well traveled area so be careful not to give up its location.
