Henderson Ranch Traditional Cache

Henderson Ranch Trust is a former ranch now owned by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.
The Idaho Department of Fish and Game acquired this parcel, called the Derr Creek Segment, using funding from the BPA Mitigation Program. Managed for wildlife habitat, you will likely see waterfowl in the wetlands and enjoy impressive views of the nearby Cabinet Mountains and the distant Selkirks. Look west from the parking area to observe geologic time in the present tense - a rock slide that occurred about two winters ago.
The previous landowner planted ponderosa pine on the drier upper bench and white pine on the moist bottomland. Both are nice stands.
From downtown Clark Fork, turn south onto Stevens Street just behind the Conoco station. Cross the Clark Fork River on the new bridge and stay on the paved road. Just over two miles from downtown look to the right for the sign for the Henderson Ranch Trust and follow the gravel road a short distance to the parking area.
