INDIANA SPIRIT QUEST
#139
”THREE HEROES OF 1812!"
This quest will take you on a little voyage
of discovery of the veterans buried in this old cemetery.
Tombstones here date back to the 1840's
PAW PAW
CEMETERY

THE CHURCH -- painter needs a taller ladder...
Located back of Paw Paw United Methodist Church (Check out the
Belfry), west side of Paw Paw Pike, near 800N and 600E, in Richland
Township, Miami County, Indiana. The cemetery is divided into the
North Section (toward the church) and the South Section. The rows
run north and south; the rows are numbered from east (by the creek)
to west.
Take a virtual tour with us, or print out
this page and use it as a guide when you get to the cemetery to pay
your respects to our honored Veterans:
Before we start, here are our three veterans
of the War of 1812:
E.J. KIDD (40° 52.690 85° 58.035)
ROBERT WATSON (40° 52.683 85°
58.0283)
JOHN CORDER (40° 52.683 85° 58.038)
Their graves are not far apart and are marked
by American Flags. The coordinates readings were taken under very
heavy cloud cover, so feel free to post corrections. The cache clue
is a spoiler so you won't have any trouble finding the geocache.

Rest on embalmed and sainted dead!
Dear as the blood ye gave;
No impious footstep here shall tread
The herbage of your grave;
Nor shall your glory be forgot
While Fame her record keeps,
For honor points the hallowed spot
Where valor proudly sleeps.
