Parking at N50.41.684 W002.42.361 used to be free but as from 2007
The National Trust now make a charge to non-members. Even so, this
could still be busy 'in season'.
From the car park, a round trip of just under a mile will be
required.
The cache is a 5 litre plastic olive barrel containing details
of a task.
You may need a couple of spare ENGLISH coins to fully enjoy this
one.
This is a large container and suitable for bigger swaps and
those larger travel bugs that you have got stuck with.
When you have finished the cache, rather than retracing your
steps, why not drop down and walk back along the beach. This area
is a favourite with beach anglers and you will have the chance to
play the local game of 'Bait the Fisherman'. The rules of this old
Dorset game are as follows:-
a) Approach any of the Anglers and say "Hey,that guy has caught
far more fish than you".
b) Score points for the response as below
- 1 point......." Oh that is wonderful news and has really made
my day for he is such a good decent fellow"
- 2 points......"Ummmph"
- 5 points......"Go away"
- 10 points..... for each 4 lettered or unprintable word
- 20 points..... for threat of physical violence
- 50 points......for actual physical violence.
This is a game for adults only.Highest scores have been obtained
from all night fishermen after a particularly cold night or on days
with icy wind and driving rain blowing off the sea.
Note.....It is inadvisable to play this game on the way to the
cache as it may proved difficult to open with broken fingers.
FEB 2007--FOLLOWING A COMPLAINT (SEE LOGS JAN/FEB) I HAVE MOVED
THE CACHE ONTO THE GROUND AT THE BASE OF THE WALL, AT THE SAME
COORDINATES.
