Knagur Green: Due to no response from the CO after the request to maintain or replace the cache, I am archiving it to, stop it showing on the listings and/or to create place for the geocaching community.

The Geocache Maintenance guideline explains a CO's responsibility towards checking and maintaining the cache when problems are reported.

Geocache Description:


First the good news .. this is a nice area with sand dunes overlooking the gulf water. It's a short drive from Dammam and until recently it has been a secluded area with great views of the sea. A new road has been constructed and some developments along the beach are taking place past the Khaleej Village which will probably affect the peaceful atmosphere found in this the area.

The bad news is that it's hard to find a hiding place because of the sand. To minimize the effects of sand I drove up the hill and stashed the cache below a small bush (roughly on the west side of it, away from the beach) hoping that it will not be buried for long. You will have to uncover the cache since it is below the surface but only few centimeters, so no need for a shovel. The cache is hidden in a wooden box that is wrapped in a plastic bag and has the word surprise on it but the real surprise is inside .

The site is mentioned in Jon Carter's book (Desert Treks from AlKhobar). If you are attempting "The Beach (GCJE2B)" and "Ghonan (GCA305)", then this will be a nice break between them.
