The Mudhole Traditional Cache
Wiildrose: I checked on the cache today, and it is GONE. I knew it would be, and I didn't have to heart to look. This was a cache very close to my heart, and I spent a LOT of time painting the roses on the cache can, and sealing it, and picking out the best swag to put in it. It's heartbreaking to see a bunch of kids run off with it. So be it. Thanx to all who took the time to find it, and my apologies to those that did search for it when it was missing.

Welcome to the Priest River Recreation Area, or "The Mudhole" as us locals like to call it. No, it's not muddy, don't worry, so come by and play! Bring a lunch and your swimsuit, your boat or your tent, your ball game or kite, there's lots to do here. There is a nice swimming area, a playground, picnic shelter, camping area, playing field and boat launch.
The Army Corp of Engineers was kind enough to allow me to place my cache on their property as their first-ever "test cache." I would like to thank them for their open-mindedness at giving geocaching a chance, instead of just banning it from their land. I practically grew up at "The Mudhole," and couldn't imagine this not being one of my first caches. I am thrilled that they gave me the chance.
The cache is a 50-cal can chock-full of goodies, and a little something for the First-to-Find. WATCH OUT for thorns by the cache, and as always, please be kind to the area. Please do not leave any food or drink in the cache, or anything with odors (i.e. candles, lotion, cigars, potpourri). Did I mention to WATCH OUT FOR THE THORNS, and to pick your path wisely? This is not a cache to do at night! Look for the clearing and power lines, that's the best place to start.
