Rawdon Billing

The Billing (old Anglo-Saxon for high place)
On a clear day from Rawdon’s highest point the Billing (291m), York Minster can be glimpsed to the east and Pendle Hill to the west as well as distant views over Airedale.
An old quarry site extensively quarried for stone up to beginning of 1900, it is now owned by Leeds City Council. Comprising of 2 Hectares of mature trees, shrubs and many species of wild flowers it is also a haven for many nesting birds.
