Hidey-hole Traditional Cache
Octopisces: Thanks to vandals in the area, which seem to be sticking around now, this cache was ruined. I will not be replacing it due to the seeming steady amount of trash in the area, hinting of more hooligan activity.

This is a traditional geocache, in a semi-wooded area, requiring a short uphill trek, but definatly doable. Keep kids semi close to you due to the landscape, but they should be fine.
I hope you enjoy this cache. There is space to park off to the side of the toll booth traffic. If you come from Iowa, you will have to pay a $1.25 toll to get across the bridge. Park, then walk back to read the bridge plaque and check the bridge out...its neat to. (see the link)
When you're ready for the cache hunt, you can attack the steep timbered slope head-on, but you will have a much easier assent by walking around the hill.
It has gotten a bit more difficult this year, due to more ground cover and a fallen tree to get by, so I bumped the difficulty from 3 to 3.5.
On to the cache … The first cache I ever found (06/24/2001) was an ammo can, so that's what geocaching is all about in my mind, so you will be hunting down a poor defenseless ammo can. It is doing its best to hide out up there, so please place it back nicely. it only takes a moment to replace them nicely and proper...please don't just throw it back there.
If you bring your kids with you, they will enjoy the swag also, so if they're up to a bit of tall grass and a short climb, they will have fun once they are up there. After that, its all downhill till you get back to your vehicle. I have never measured it, but the entire trip from car, to cache, to car, is probably...1,500 feet or a bit less. ( the long way, around)
It is not too difficult to find. I did not put it up there to frustrate you, so you should be able to find it ok. The WAASing seemed to be pretty tight.
I keep this cache the way it is, so you have fun finding it, so please, if you feel good about it...maybe give it a fav point when you log it, to show I am doing ok?, otherwise, I will try to make it better for you finders. Thanks.
Enjoy! :)
