Geocache Description:

A spot with a great view on a clear day.

When the cache was placed, a gorgeous, almost sunset view of Catalina was seen, icluding ships at anchor outside San Pedro / LGB harbor. Picture posted below. If it is clear (like after a rain), look forward to it.

Trailhead, as with most caches in this area, at the top of Lilac Lane in Brea-Olinda, going through the north section of Chino Hills State Park, but there might be other ways to get there. The round-trip trail distance is just a about 2 miles, with 400 feet one-way net climb / descent, but you will want to hunt some of the nearby caches also. This area was once called "cache deprived" (by me!), but I now hereby declare that is is now "well cache endowed". Thanks, fellow cache planters! As of this time, there are about 10 nice caches with a meaningful 5 mile or so hike.

Container is about 4" diameter, 2" tall tupperware generic equivalent, with a nice assortment of geoswag on board, as well as the usual cache explanation paper, log, & pencils. Cache is hidden under / next to some non-native material on hand.

Caution: A rattlesnake has been reported near the cache. See Slobeavis's log of Aug 16, 2005. Doesn't mean it is still there, but use caution when approaching. Better to pass on the cache if there is any indication he is still around. Be careful please.
