Geocache Description:


Everywhere you go there is a story to be told. This location is no exception. According to the old-timers, years ago this location was an oil storage facility operated by Permian Petroleum. Oil, which was pumped from area wells, was gathered here and made ready for transport to oil refineries. Oil production has steadily dwindled over the years and the station eventually closed. Up until 2001 this site was littered with rusty oil storage tanks, pipes and equipment. Today the site is a "Gathering Station" of a different sort. Stroll around the area and take in your surroundings. Imagine dirt, mud and rusty metal everywhere around you. You are sure to be impressed. Bring a pencil. Public Property. Muggler Level: HIGH.
