The co-ordinates give the starting point, which is an area with
good GPS reception. You may lose reception on the way there, but
this shouldn't cause a problem. From the waypoint given above,
follow the track steeply downhill: the GPS signal may disappear as
you enter thick woodland. After about 100 yards, turn right, into
the forest, and follow the markers. They are small, black arrows
which will be very difficult to spot in daylight. However, after
sunset they will reflect torchlight and show the way. A small,
discreet red reflector marks the first tree: go to it then look
downhill to see the start of the trail. If you're having trouble
spotting it, there's a downward-pointing reflector about 8 feet up
a tree on the opposite side of the track.
Most of the markers are well-spaced, and you may have to move on
a few feet before you see the next one. Post a companion at the
current marker: they should wait there until you've seen the next
arrow, as it will be difficult to retrace your steps if you miss
one.

To see the markers easily, use a powerful head torch or hold a
good torch at eye level.
The cache is hidden against the final marker (at the Owl Tree):
you'll know which one it is when you see the WHITES of the owl's
eyes! It's an ammo box, painted black, but should be easy to
find.
Once the cache is found, turn round and look for the red owl
eyes, and large red chevrons marking the return trail. This takes a
direct line back to the track. Take a compass, then if you lose
your way you can just head north until you hit the main track.
Note that you will get very grubby in the trees, as you will be
constantly rubbing against branches when following the markers.
Don't wear your best clothes! N.B. The sound is the Little Owl: the
picture is the Short-Eared Owl (which can be seen around here).
