Geocache Description:

A sculpture of an Indian family is located in this town.

The cache is located adjacent and about 115 feet from a small and hidden park that is part of the walking / hiking historical sites tour of Huntsville.

Huntsville, Texas is a bustling little city with an interstate cutting through the town's west side, and an old town square, like so many other historical Texas towns. Centuries ago, Bedias Indians were the primary inhabitants, and this mini-park location was a frequent meeting place for SHADE and WATER. Huntsville was founded as a result of a meeting between the Indians and a settler, Pleasant Gray, at this location.

A sculpture exists here of a Bedias Indian man, bearing a string of fish. He is greeting his woman and his child.
