Geocache Description:

TEMPORARY TRAD - TILL I SORT THE COORDS go look here N 52° 03.505 W 001° 29.054 and use the clue

The general theme for this gentle series of loosely connected caches is the sea, or rather the lack of it. There are many things around us that suggest that they should be in a more brine-laden setting than they actually are.

chan·dler Pronunciation Key (ch nd l r) n.
1. One that makes or sells candles.
2. A retail dealer in specified goods or equipment: a ship chandler.
In this particular case the chandler was certainly not for goods associated with ships but the landlord offered two explanations. Firstly, there was indeed an 18th Century candle making business in the village or the word Chandler was used locally to describe the hostelry and provision of leather items for horses.

Whilst setting this cache I was fortunate enough to meet the landowner in her garden close to the final hiding spot and she was keen for everyone to wave their GPS towards Willow Cottage on their way past as she likes to see the folks walking in the area.

Starting our walk at the pub, examine the signage and record the number of candles (A) and the number of pennants (B). Over these details there are (C) golden leaves around the central panel and (D) anchors. The pub was established in 1E4F. Using these numbers go find the electrical pole with a yellow sign bearing 5 black numbers (286U7) at:

N 52º 03. (C/2)(B-A-D) A W001º 28.FE (E-D)

From the pole it is possible to follow the hedgerow and footpath to the wood south west of here and then to loop back to the village but our gentle walk is much easier than this. Go to:

N52º 03.U0U W001º 29.0UB

The cache is a one-litre Tupperware box in green and is hidden in the obvious spot at waist height.
