An easy cache find but over difficult terrain. Excellent views over the West Cotswold countryside.
Horton Camp is an Iron Age hill-fort that has been adopted by the National Trust. Unfortunately not much remains of this fort but the views are worth the visit. If time allows why not visit the nearby National Trust property Horton Court less that half a mile to the north. Although the cache is not hard to find (just off The Cotswold Way), the terrain is steep in places sometimes following sheep trails, maybe sheep in the field. This is not suitable for buggies. The cache is a medium sized Tupperware container. Parking for the Camp is at 51N33.499, 2W20.277, sadly there is a new fence and overgrown gate to the correct field. The only parking is now at the bottom of the hill with a short steep climb. The cache is off the footpath following the new fence. (The intended parking is at the top by the camp. However, I've noticed several people stopping at the bottom and climbing up the hill. There is a footpath this way but it isn't easy to park as the lane is pretty small) Original cache contents. Log book, pencil, sharpener Shaun key ring Screwdriver Fridge magnet Sewing kit Coloured pencils TB Shaun Again
