I am placing this cache on March 20th, 2005. On March 20th, 2003
the United States and a few other countries invaded Iraq for the
second time. The United States’ government called this Operation
Iraqi Freedom.
There is a lot of information about the war at the following
link: http://www.mywiseowl.com/articles/2003_invasion_of_Iraq
I don’t want to discuss the merits of the war here. I just ask
that whatever your feeling are about the war/invasion, that you
support our troops. Remember they are your brothers, sister,
husbands, wives, sons, daughters, or just friends.
In support of the troops I placed 9 little American flags, and a
Support the Troops sticker in the cache.
There is also a logbook and a travel bug that has nothing to do
w/the war.
The first part of the hike is a paved Board of Water Supply
road, which soon becomes a dirt road. You then have to cross a dry
stream, well it was dry today, about 4 times following the pink
ribbons. The cache will be on your right as you look mauka. I’ll
upload a picture of the area when my new computer arrives this
week. Right now I have no software on this to make a panorama.
After finding the cache you may want to continue up stream for
perhaps another 2 hours and 35 more stream crossings to a beautiful
pool for swimming and a great waterfall. This location was made for
photography buffs.
Be careful crossing the stream. After about 10 crossing you will
come to running water. That means slippery rocks. There are a few
nice pools along the stream and you may just decide not to go the
the falls but to test the waters lower down. ENJOY YOUR DAY!
