La Mona (doll) aka La Mujer Blanca (the White Woman) is an 85 foot statute built in 1989 by Armando Muñoz, a local (Tijuana) artist; the statute doubles as his partial residence. It is said his office is in her head; the bedroom in her bosom; the bathroom in the buttocks; and the living room in her stomach/pelvis area.
This cache is a two-part multi. The 1st waypoint is at La Mona's site in Tijuana, Mexico; the 2nd and final waypoint is less than a mile north in Otay Mesa, CA. (but you'll have to drive 11 miles via the port of entry.) The published coords are behind (no pun intended) La Mona. You will need the 3-digit numerical address (1st digit = A, etc...) to compute the location for the 2nd set of coords. The address is painted sideways on the perimeter concrete wall of the house which is attached to La Mona's backside; checksum is 10.

The check sum of the coords is 60.
The cache is a decon container under some rocks under a tree; you can park within 30 feet.
To get to La Mona from Otay Mesa Port of Entry:
N32 33.012 W116 56.309 Otay Mesa Port of Entry. Head towards the "Aeropuerto" (Airport);
N32 32.824 W116 58.329 The Aeropuerto (airport) on your left (south); continue westward;
N32 32.700 W116 59.838 The highway starts to veer left (south);
N32 32.433 W116 59.825 Turn left (east) onto "Constalacion";
N32 32.434 W116 59.609 Turn right (south) on cobblestone street;
N32 32.348 W116 59.585 Arrive at address;
N32 32.323 W116 59.570 Side view of La Mona; make u-turn here if you can;
N32 32.208 W116 59.524 Turn left (north) if you decided to go straight (eastward);
N32 32.373 W116 59.426 Turn left (west) onto Constalacion.
If coming over from Tijuana metro area, follow signs to the Aeropuerto (airport), then follow the coords eastward at the Constalacion turnoff.
To get a full frontal view of La Mona, continue south on the highway, make a U-turn at N32 31.991 W117 00.012 and pull over at N32 32.302 W116 59.627. Then, continue north on highway back to the Port.

Final is down a gated paved road, about a quarter mile walk each.
Mar 24, 2005 Note: I was asked if it was OK to make the find with the address provided by a friend in Mexico. I don't have a problem with this; I've figured out Multi's without making it to the 1st waypoint. However, I do expect you to be forthcoming when you log your entry; and, I will ask that you not share the address with another cacher.
