Geocache Description:

Parking N56 15.540 W003 19.048 or at N56.14.881 W003.20.186 if you want to do "John Knox's Pulpit"

The Bonnet Stane is a block of sandstone eroded by the elements through time into a very precarious-looking lump sitting on a sort of stalk. Mhh!! Big Mushroom

This has taken centuries to complete. You will see a lot of graffiti done over the centuries Opposite the stane is a new Bonnet taking place but I don’t think I’ll be around to see it! Just below it is a hand carved cave, take a torch to see the old graffiti.

Please refrain from adding your own!

To log this Cache measure the height and width of the hole of the newly forming Bonnet Stane, this data will help to work out the rate of erosion of the sandstone. Or if you feel that is to dangerous to do photo of the Stane will do!
