OUT OF AREA AND OUT OF STATE CACHERS ARE WELCOME !

BIGGER AND BETTER THAN EVER
JUNE 11-12, 2005

Rain on June 11 will move events to June 12

NEW GAMES, NEW EVENTS, GREAT CAMPING, GREAT LOCATION, CANOEING

Located in Kettletown State Park, this event is sure to be the biggest ever seen in this area. Bring your canoe or kayak and search for water caches or cross the river and search for caches in Paugussett State Park.

WHAT A GREAT DAY IT WAS!

With the nasty weather holding off until the very last minute, we couldn't have had a better day (maybe a little cooler). As always, it was great to see all our old friends, and so many new ones. I will update this shortly with attendance numbers as soon as I can work them out. I spent most of my time after the event sleeping.
Teams Attending:80
Total people attending:140
Total Travel Bugs: 142

I want to thank my commitees for their contribution to making this event a success. I could not have done this without them. I hope we can keep these people for our next event as they do thier jobs so well.
A few cache placere are also certainly worthy of special recogintion.
THE CREATIVITY AWARD certainly has to go to Squeeze (1 NatureMom) for "Pulling Muscles From The Shell (GCNTGV). Never before have I sat on the ground opening a cache laughing. If you haven't done this one it is worth a return trip.
THE EDUCATION AWARD, has to go to RJFerrett and Katydid for their Geology Earth Cache (GCP6MD). Unfortunately, I did not have time to finish that one, but I will be back.
and THE INGENIOUS AWARD has to go to Zurcher for his Night Cache 2 (GCP5KA). This one had to take an enormous amount of time to set up,
And thanks to all of you who set caches there for this event. Again, it is your efforts that have made this such a great success.

I also want to thank everyone for their participation, their generosity with their food donations, and all the help in cleaning up after the event. Well done, everyone! See you all next year. Cache Committee:CT Trampers

GEO TIME CAPSULE

We will be hiding a Time Capsule to be recovered at the Geo Jamboree 10. The cache will be hidden here at Kettletown with only a few people knowing the coordinates.

RAFFLE - GARMIN ETRAX LEGEND COLOR! - $4

This is a $300 unit with mapping software and PC USB data cord.

There are several ways to get there for you locals. But for out-of-towners, I would suggest getting of Rt. 84 at Exit 15, follow the brown, then the green signs to Kettletown State Park (Kettletown Rd.) to Georges Hill Road (N.41°26.781 W.73°11.324). Follow road to park entrance (N.41°25.817 W.73°12.079).

Please post a note to let us know if you are coming and what you will be bringing for the picnic. Keep an eye on this page for changes as we get closer to the event.
