Victoria park; rocky terrain but marked trail; 400 m climb
It seemed appropriate to set a cache on this hill to honour, Louie, Junior’s loveable puppy. He’s proved himself a great companion for the search. Perhaps with more training his fantastic nose will lead us directly to the caches, but today, while we readied the box for hiding, the same nose found our felt-pen lid and before you could say “Here it is!” the odoriferous piece of plastic was “down the hatch” as they say. Ah, Louie, you’ve made a great hide, but we know which end to be watchin’ now.
Louie’s Lookout has awesome views that will give you an excuse to linger and pontificate about our wonderful country. It’s at almost the exact midpoint of the trail.
The stash of treasures is somewhat canine-oriented although Louie likes kids so a few kid thingys are also there. At the time of hiding, the medium lock box contained 3 squeaking doggy balls; 4 real brass, pet, identification capsules; 3 gems of opportunity (lucky pieces); 2 GI Joes; one Ama&Papa geocoin. Oh! I almost forgot. At the last minute we slipped in a $5 bill for the lucky FTF. Have fun and enjoy the view.
