Packanack: This was a fun cache, but it has been in the field for more than a year. So I pulled it today and place 2 others on the other side of town, just to freshen the inventory. Thanks to all who came over to this great spot.

Geocache Description:

Multi Puzzle. Map work up prior to seeking probably helpful.

A possible after work cache for Rt.23 Commuters. Multi Stage Puzzle, requiring some thought, projection and map and compass work.Recommend using a map software program before starting.N 40° 56.016 W 074° 15.354
Which is the same starting point as There was a Babbling Brook. From that Starting point, project a distance of 1.65 MILES on a course heading of 247.85 TN. That is the parking spot, which is your walk starting point. Or go looking for Benchmark KV4900 from there an Easy walk to N 40.55.552 W074.17.258. End of Piling find your first clue. From there it is a hop skip jump to your next clue and then an easy walk to the cache.. Again this is one of Wayne Township’s unknown (Green Acres) Parks. Bring a pair of binoculars if you enjoy bird watching. I have seen deer, fox, herons and muskrat here. This park is without a name or a sign . From your parking area, you will walk the road past the metal gate, got your boots on ? It can be muddy. But this is not a swamp cache, woods roads walking. Follow the directions and you will find your hints. Did you bring your sense of humor. Clues replaced with magnetic keyholders hidden low behind a rock, those hints will lead you to the cache, which is a 30 cal. Ammo can with the usual assortment. I am currently attempting to formulate a plan for the Town to install a canoe launch site nearby and for this area to be dressed up a little as a bird sanctuary and nature observatory (it is a frightful mess now)—Your comments and thoughts are solicited. This is the old Wayne Section of Town, historically, the feeder canal for the Morris Canal flowed nearby, some remnant sections of canal and towpath are still visible in the woods. The area was also home to explosive plants and brick works, the buildings still stand and are still used today. At the parking spot, there once was a radio station that broadcast Freedom Radio to Europe. Was a very large building, which is hard to immagine now. Area is prone to flooding during periods of heavy rains, standing and flowing water may be present. Suggest that if conditions as described exist, that it be saved for another time. Please do not log tracks or spoilers, TIA.
