The Burghfield TB Hotel / Happy Meal Toy Graveyard Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

SteveThePirate115: Unfortunately, due to the rather bad smell (we think most likely caused by a dead animal or worse, a dead body) I have decided, rather reluctantly, to archive this one. I did really enjoy placing it, and reading the logs when you all found that stupidly large ammo box, but it just wasn't meant to be. We had a good run and will be best friends forever. I remember the time that someone didn't put your lid back on properly and you filled with water... Oh how we laughed. So as I commit this cache to the earth, I ask that we all bow our heads and savor our last few moments together... because when we've all left for the pub, Liane's gonna come dig it back up and use it for her 'Christmas Cracker Event Cache'. DO YOU KNOW NO SHAME?

Amen

*** PLEASE BE AWARE***

This cache is pretty big, and was a pain in the backside to hide, especially as I really wanted to hide it in the area that I did, and nowhere else! It is hidden from the untrained eye, but will only remain so if you lovely people hide it the best you can when you leave it! Thanks very much, y'all!

This Cache is REALLY EASY! If you are looking for a challenge, try something else!

Intro...

This is a dual purpose, semi detached geocache. On one side of the box, a lovely hotel for your TBs to rest in before they pursue their onward journey. On the other darker, more sinister side of the box, is a graveyard. Not just any graveyard. This place of rest is reserved for the darkness that fills even the holiest of geocaches - the Happy Meal Toy. Bring them along and get rid. Visit all your caches and exorcise those infernal demons, then lay them to rest here. When the box is full, the 'bodies' will be taken away and burned. Lovely!

Terrain...

The site is flat and easily accessible. This cache will be fine for children and the more sturdy buggy, but please beware that during the warmer months, the site has it's fair share of nettles, so the kids need to keep their hands up!

I chose this footpath because it's a wonderful walk, from the Burghfield end, right the way down to the Theale road, and further on down to the motorway. If you get the chance, take a walk... and why not hide a couple more further down!

Parking...

Roadside parking is available at N51 25.179 W1 03.022, and is only a matter of yards from the cache, so this could truly be a 'cache and dash' occasion!

You can download the parking waypoint as a LOC waypoint file

The Cache...

The cache is a rather large ammo box, divided near enough down the middle. Put your Travel Bugs on one side, and your Happy Meal Toys on the other... it's marked up so you can't get them mixed up. If you're worried at all, fear not... we WILL NOT burn any of your travel bugs!

Original Contents...

A log book, and that's it! I didn't have any TBs or Happy Toys to put in, so I'm hoping you guys might take care of the rest!

We hope you enjoy finding our cache...
