This cache is intended to highlight the Wayah Bald area.
This mtn. is steeped in Cherokee history and is named for the wolf. It is located in the Nantahala National Forest.
This short hike will take you past the stone fire tower named for John Byrne. You can go up into the tower for outstanding views of the area. Because this is a high use area, I have placed the cache a short distance north on the A/T. It is about 100 yards off the trail.
It is a regular ammo box.
