The cache is hidden at a small local nature reserve and site of special scientific interest which has a varied past, one of the former uses of part of the site gives a hint at the name for the cache.
You are looking for a black screw top container, initially filled with all sorts of goodies.
Please keep to the path and keep a close eye on the little ones, as the reserve is the site of old, now flooded quarry workings and mines etc. Also it is more than likely to be muddy so boots are a good idea! Please park at the reservoir car park N52°47.630’ W 001°26.409’ & walk trough the stile in the bottom (south-west) corner, the reserve entrance is about 200M down the road just over the bridge. There is a short circular path around the reserve and although tree cover might be a problem the actual cache site is relatively open.
The box is very easy to find, it’s very close to the path, and you will not need to disturb anything at all to get it, if you have to move anything you are looking in the wrong place! but beware you might have to wait a little while if there are muggles about! just pretend you’re bird watching (if you are lucky you might just see a kingfisher)
I am extremely grateful to Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust & Severn Trent for their permissions to place this cache, please respect their wishes by - a, parking only in the suggested car park, & b, keeping to the paths at all times whilst in the reserve.
Happy hunting!
