Country stores like this were spread throughout the backroads of Alabama and provided a significant service to travelers and the people in the surrounding area. The cache is a plastic magnetic key holder placed in an accessible place of an outdoor museum. It is not large enough to hold a pen so bring your own. Be sure to sign the log.
In the early part of the 20th century, Andalusia was a bustling area with train service from two railroad lines. These lines provided the life line to the rest of the world and even carried passengers to such places as Gantt and Opp. As the highway system opened and truck lines provided the transportation of goods, the railroads in Andalusia became relics for museums. Andalusia has a nice railroad museum near the heart of town. The cache is located at this museum. Also located at this museum is an interesting structure to see and appreciate. There is a small country store that has been relocated to the museum site. The country store provided a much needed service to farmers and travelers. These small stores provided fuel and food staples in remote areas so that a trip to town was not necessary. What is not appreciated about these small stores is that they were the forerunner of the modern day convenience store. The coordinates given here will take you to the front of a country store. Use the hints and some thought to guide you to the exact location of the cache. Please replace it where you found it. Have fun finding the first micro placed in the Andalusia area.
