THE POSTED CO-ORDINATES ARE NOT FOR THE ACTUAL CACHE LOCATION. THEY ARE FOR A LOGICAL STARTING POINT IN THE GENERAL CACHE AREA.
Cache area probably offers it's best in winter and spring when the creek is flowing well but is still enjoyable for it's pleasant bush setting and great views all year round.
A medium length walk along well established steep and rocky, or steep and gravelly trails. Selective use of existing animal trails can lead you to immediate cache area without too much hardship.
Cache is a small black plastic tool chest.
Original cache contents include:
Log book etc.
Finders Rewards (first 8 teams only!). Please take only 1 per team.
Some pirate themed items and other assorted treasures.
**** CACHE MAINTENANCE UPDATE 18/06/08 ****
Cache is now a 3 litre plastic storage container with a blue lid.
To avoid the persistent ant problem I have placed the cache a few a couple of metres away from the original location. It is now under the skirt of a young grass tree (Yes, I know, how original!).
No pirate goodies in the lost treasure trove this time but new contents includes:
2 geocaching keyrings
1 "geocaching the world" cloth patch
1 "geocaching the world" pin back badge
1 DNF :( glow in the dark pin back badge
1 geocaching mouse pad
To find this cache you will have to complete the following steps:
STEP 1 :
Correctly answer (and spell) 15 pirate related questions.
STEP 2 :
Convert the answer to each question into a number using the code:
A = 1, B = 2 ... Z = 26 (eg. BLACK = 2+12+1+3+11=29)
STEP 3 :
Reduce each of the 15 numbers to a single digit number (eg. 29=2+9=11=1+1=2)
You should now have 15 single digit numbers. Numbers from Questions 1-7 will ultimately yield an "S" co-ordinate and numbers from Questions 8-15 will ultimately yield an "E" co-ordinate.
STEP 4 :
Find "The Ghost Of Paddyk The Pirate King" Travel bug. He possesses 15 numbers. Add or subtract his 15 numbers from your 15 numbers. This will give you 15 new numbers that are the co-ordinates to the cache.
