Eagle Hill River Traditional Cache
SHIFTLESS-1: We have moved from the area and are unable to maintain the cache. It apparently has been pilfered by vandals, SAD. It is a beautiful place and I am sorrowful that people will miss this location and the pleasure it has brought cachers in the past.

This cache is located in a quiet, remote, coastal location that has great views and overlooks tidal waters and salt marsh. Pack a picnic lunch and take the family.
Park in the Strawberry Hill parking lot off Jeffrey’s Neck Rd. Take a short hike over a moderate rise through open field and salt marsh. Waterproof hiking boots would be a good choice of footwear due to the field being very wet. Also, there is a spot where during high tide water may cover a very small section of the trail. Please stay on the trail. Do not use the dirt driveway to the left. It is private property. When you arrive at the destination, there is a nice grassy area to spread a blanket and have a picnic. In addition, a park bench overlooks the Eagle Hill River where you can sit and rest, take in a fabulous panoramic view of the coast, listen to the birds, watch the wildlife or the incoming or out going tide. Due to nesting birds, dogs are not allowed during the months of May, June, or July. All other months they must be on a leash. Greenheads, if you know what they are, are particularly nasty during the first two weeks of July. If you don't know what they are, then by all means, go and find out. This cache can also be reached by boat on a very high tide.
