Close to Interstate 81 and Interstate 26/181 Travel Bug Hotel.
It has been mentioned in the past that it would be nice to have a TB Hotel close to the Interstate(s). Well, this is it. Make sure you leave I-81 at exit 56. This is Tri-Cities Crossing. My cache is on the SOUTH side of I-81, in a small wooded area. I shot coords 3x at this location with an accuracy of ~20 feet. The cache itself is a LARGE ammo can, painted black with silver sharpie writing all over it. I didn't have any extra TB's to hide when starting this cache, so, hopefully, some of you folks can throw your 'needing to exit the Tri-Cities' TB's in here so they can 'get on down the road'!
Please Note: Exit 56 is approximately 2 years old so may not be listed on SOME mapping programs!
If you are traveling thru our area, and want to drop off or just trade TB's please use this cache! There is a pulloff area near the cache, paved and just big enough for one vehicle, so you don't have to worry about parking ON the road. This street can be pretty busy, so please take care when pulling into the parking area and ESPECIALLY when backing out. I positioned the cache so that the weary traveler will get a good leg stretching, and your average muggle won't find it. If you are driving a larger vehicle, or are in a caravan, there is a MUCH better parking area about 250 feet SSW of the cache. It is located at the on/off ramps for the Northbound side of I-81. Southbound, take exit 56, then turn LEFT at the end of the ramp and proceed UNDER I-81 for approximately 1/10 mile, to the Northbound ramps. You'll notice the small parking area mentioned earlier before you pass the residence on the right side of the road.
I've already tested this cache on someone that had only the coordinates and no knowledge of the area and she found it in less than 10 minutes. With all the help I've given you here, you should be able to find it in much less time - unless you want to take more time on your journey and just enjoy the Tennessee woods. Remember, there are pointy and pokey things and things that bite and sting in the woods, so be prepared for these. Remember to CITO, too! There is a pen in the cache, and the ziplock bag is fairly large to accomodate those TB's that don't have their own bags.
