Jeep trail accessed off CA Hwy 95, 2WD OK, with caution. Good
turn-around area at cache site.
Camp Ibis was extablished around 1942, to provide "Extreme" desert
training for troops being sent to North Africa, during WW11.
Nothing remain's except some rock borders where buildings &
tents were located and a network of weathered, dirt roads. Once on
the correct "Jeep or Tank" trail, there's an interesting, large
"cement pond", on your right, about 1 mile from 95. Coord's for
pond are N34 58.541 W114 49.151. The corral is the only structure
standing and may have been used to keep livestock, (including
Camels), for the camp. The cache is a plastic jar and has the usual
fun item's for us "kid's at heart" and a FTF Fiver!
