Ojito Wilderness, wonderful geology.
THESE ARE FRAGILE LANDS THAT BELONG TO ALL OF US. DESPITE THE DAMAGE DONE BY COWS WE MUST TREAD LIGHTLY. RESPECT OUR CULTURAL AND NATURAL RESOURCES. OBEY THE RULES. THANK YOU
Gnomes are thought to be gentle folk. Don't believe it, they have a nasty streak. This is also not your Woodland Gnome, probably a Dune Gnome. He lives in a hole in the fairyland that is the Ojito Wilderness on BLM land.
The Gnome was thoughtlessly destroyed by witless vandals.
Since I am now responsible for this cache I feel obligated to make a change.
With all due respect to our friend, Mouser, the cache is now family friendly. Mouser was most definatly braver and more sure footed than I. I would feel terrible if anyone was injured attempting to reach this cache so have relocated it to a safer location.
The coords are still valid. The cache is now a small/micro and located at the base of the cliff.
The spirit of the Gnome and of Mouser remains as always.
Drive out 550 and turn onto Cabezon Road at the White Mesa just before San Ysidro. When you get to N35° 29.003, W106° 51.816 turn onto a dirt road. The Gnome lives about 1/2 mile up this road. High clearance necessary or give yourself another star for walking from here. Bear to the left after turning and go for it.
Mouser loved the Ojito. I will place his original cache container in an appropriate location honoring Mouser.

PS Congrats to all you brave souls who seemed to have no problem with the cache locations.
